For Shame Madison City Council...

Last Memorial Day, I posted about the Confederate Rest Cemetery in Madison, Wisconsin.  This is a POW cemetary in Madison, Wisconsin.  A local Madison woman, Alice Whiting Waterman, who was from the South, at her own expense, marked the graves and also put up a monument of the fallen soldiers names (she is also interned there). Shamefully, the Madison City Council wants to remove that memorial. Our so called leaders in Madison today are not decent people.

This is all about cheap virtue signaling and posing by the Madison City Council.  Consider how Madisonians reacted back in the day when the POWs first arrived? All this present action does is confirm that the current Madison City Council are small, churlish, and unworthy of any honor. You disgrace yourself with this act.

  1. Blinkered Soglin stalwarts cannot distinguish between a shrine to the Confederacy and a memorial to Confederate dead.

    1. There was a small granite and bronze plaque placed later (20th century) that is a bit over the top and I could see going (that flowery language glorifying the confederacy). But a granite tombstone marking the graves?
