Instapundit: Golf World: With an investigation Golf Digest helped open, an Erie County court vacated Dixon’s murder conviction after he had already served 27 years in jail.
Wow. This is a pretty amazing story, thanks to Golf Digest.
It was not a simple case (it is hard to overturn a conviction after appeals). Valentino Dixon had a criminal history and there was testimony to convict him (but there was also testimony to acquit him). But there are serious questions about the case and he served 27 years. Thanks to two Georgetown undergraduate students, he was exonerated of the charges. But the Golf Digest story gave needed attention.
