Idris Elba as James Bond

Is this a conservative liberal thing?  I don't think it is, nor should it be. 

My only criteria for the Bond franchise is that Bond be...well Bond. It is not a racial thing (frankly I suspect dishonest people on the left are trying to make it so), but a cultural thing. Idris Elba is British, so you avoid that whole Bridget Jones fiasco in casting an American in the role (although given how many British actors come to the USA and adopt American accents, maybe some payback is in order). Idris Elba also has the alpha male gravitas and acting chops to pull off the role in the traditional sense. I hope he does well at it.  

My biggest fear is that in some PC panic, they would cast some woke transgender beta male-feminist passive-aggressive character. That would totally screw up the franchise. A female Bond also messes up the role because male and female people are not mirror images. Nothing wrong with a 00 female agent (that might be interesting playing opposite or with Bond as a co-star), but not as Bond himself.
