The Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was murdered fifty years ago.

The historical impact of King's work fifty years later remains as important today as it was then. Yes he read the changing conditions at the time, but Dr. King was also a great man (I mean that in the historical sense of the term).  Rev. King was also a profoundly religious Christian man and his Christian faith was central to his civil rights campaign. RIP.

And I am a half glass full sort of blogger. While racial problems are still a major issue in the USA, can we at least appreciate things are better now than they were in 1968? That is in large part due to work done by Dr. King.
