12 Strong (Movie): A Review

Don't believe the review hype, 12 Strong is a very good movie. I saw plenty of lefty reviews trashing this film. Ignore that hype, they are 100% wrong. Chris Hemsworth (for a change) plays a real life super-hero in this movie and the rest of the cast such as Michael Shannon, Michael Peña, and David Negahban are excellent. Danish director Nicolai Fuglsig directed it and visually the film is stunning. I strongly recommend seeing this film (and it is one that benefits from seeing in the theater).

And thank you Jerry Bruckheimer for making it.

It is a straight up old fashion war story. A few reviews say that the Taliban are portrayed as cartoon like villains. Have these reviewers not been paying attention of what the Taliban have done? The Taliban are villains and al Qaeda are even worse. And yes, these 12 men did face overwhelming odds. As for the situation not being resolved, well welcome to Afghanistan (the film does foreshadow what is to come).
