Ms. Perrineau has accused Girls writer Murray Miller of rape in 2012 when she was 17 years old. She has gone to the police and filed charges. Leah Dunham is defending Murray.
There are two sides to a story. The police are presumably investigating this. Mr. Miller is entitled to a presumption of innocence on the criminal charges that could potentially be brought against him. Why didn't Ms. Perrineau make this charges sooner? Still, it doesn't mean Miller didn't do it. That is something that has to be determined.
But how could Dunham know if the accusations are true or not? She wasn't there?

Well, if you think about it, Dunham's a rapist herself. I mean, it was her baby sister, but it seems to be a kind of professional courtesy at work here.
