Shawshank Redemption White Oak, RIP


White oaks are a long lived tree. This particular one had suffered significant damage from trunk rot and a lightening strike on July 29, 2011. The remaining tree fell down during a windstorm on July 23, 2016. It was one of the sites along the Shawshank Trail.
