Venus de Milo

This statute of Aphrodite (or possibly Amphitrite) was re-discovered on April 8, 1820 on the Island of Melos (Milo).  Venus is her Latin name.  One of the few statutes that survived from ancient Greece. Now she is at the Louvre in Paris.
