Why is this Google's "Christmas" doodle?


Okay, it is vaguely birthday-ish, with absolutely no Christian iconography.  I assume this is done so as to not offend non-Christians.  Okay.  Does Google ever do doodles for other religious holidays?   Officially no, but...

Except when Google chooses to do so...

    That world, however, does not include Christianity or the United States.
