Brooklyn tells the story of a young Irish woman immigrant in 1950s Brooklyn (it is based on the novel of the same name by Colm Tóibín). It is a beautifully shot film capturing that time period. Saoirse Ronan, in the main role of Eilis Lacey, does a wonderful job and steals every scene (although the rest of the cast give excellent performances too).
