Preaching to the choir (they just have to decide which choir...) Most Judeo-Christian believers would like Noah to be a family friendly film that follows the biblical story of Noah (Noah follows God's instructions, saves his family and the animals from drowning, happy ending with rainbow...). An entertaining film like The Ten Commandments! This link is interesting because it has not only the movie (which who doesn't love), but Cecil B. DeMille's speech on his intent in making the film (right after the overture). Go look at that. The theme of that film was whether man should be ruled by God's law or by the whims of a dictator like Ramses... Whether men are property of the state or whether they are free souls under God. DeMille is also the narrator in that film. They don't make them like that in Hollywood anymore. Can you imagine many Hollywood directors or producers giving such a speech today?
Some heavy handed Gaia preaching thrown in on Noah, especially on over population, is really not going to end up well...

When Kevin Costner was acting and producing Waterworld, he got all obsessed with global warming and rising sea level nonsense, while the director thought Waterworld was better as a action film. They never got over that dichotomy and well...epic disaster film. Just not as anyone intended.
They used to understand in Hollyweird that a movie screen is the world's worst soapbox and an even worse pulpit.
