Had a bear do that to me once. Long range shot at about 250 yds, down he went immediately and siezed a bit then went still, I get about 3/4 of the way there after climbing down from my stand and I see the fecker get up and take off running. Took another shot at him but it went into a tree. No blood trail to follow so after searching around awhile, went back to where he went down. Scat where he had shat himself and a small amount of blood where his head had been.
I figure I got a glancing skull shot on him, which knocked him out, he seized and by the time I got there, woke up. Too bad as he was a fricken brute
