In the game of war you can get killed in the short run if you cannot handle being tired and still able to think and plan and fight. First you try to survive the short run, then try to resume a normal life in the long run. Some do it better than others, which is why everyone on line gets tested in the first place.

That's why all the behind the lines outfits run their guys with little or no sleep and them have them try to plan and run operations.
