This guy is scary. No formal food preparation training, but plenty of restaurant management experience and television promotion as well. He apparently has a couple of places in Santa Rosa, CA...and yes he does seem to be a good "fit" for Santa Rosa. Spent a fair amount of time there years ago. Based upon his TV persona...the menu doesn't seem like a parody :-)
Every time I see Guy, I want to punch him in the face, call 1980 and get David Lee Roth on the phone and let them know that I found Van Halen's Long Lost Loser Brother stuck in the future and to come get him or I'll drop ship him to Cabo San Lucas.
His lack of formal food prep shows in how he touches and plays with food as it's being prepared. It's disgusting. I've seen his show a couple of times because I've been to a couple of places he showcased before and the fact that they let this tactless dick back in the kitchen to touch anything in there makes it unpalatable to think about going back there again.
I was being as *nice* as I could be so as to meet EBL's etiquette expectations and stuff...and you come along and say exactly what I'm thinking. Exactly what I was thinking actually...you read minds or something?
