John McCain missed one critical fact before he decided to attack Rand Paul again...

John McCain misses this:  The NSA effort did nothing to stop the Boston Marathon Bombings...
All the data in the world (and the NSA was definitely making that effort to compile it) means nothing if you do not glean out what is important and act on it.  And do we really want the Government getting every telephone and digital conversation we have? Rand Paul wants to challenge that.

John McCain should be focusing on why the Obama administration did not act on the Tsarnaev Brothers sooner.  The dots were all there to connect.  Yet, as Mark Steyn noted, we focus on mega surveillance of the country and (out of political correctness) refuse to focus on Islamic extremism.

Update:
Maureen Dowd of course blames Bush, but notes that Obama is just more of the same.
