ReplyDeleteHe knew he needed to put a lid on this until the election. The MSM would do it for him if he just gave them an alternate narrative--hence, Evil Video Guy.
He thought this would all stay in the memory hole after the election. It's the only thing he's been wrong about in the whole disgusting affair.
The media was so in the bag for him (and Romney so incompetent as a candidate in a Presidential race) that had he been honest about Benghazi, he still would have been re-elected. They obviously did not intend to get those men killed but they put them at risk and then did not move quick enough to help them.

ReplyDelete1.) He knew with in 15 minutes of the CRITICOMM message initiation by the officer of the day in Libya and/or Benghazi. It is designed to be in the President's hands within 10 minutes...as well as the hands of important cabinet and defense personnel. I'm using the 15 minute estimate based upon my experience with such messages in the days of Telex notification.
2.) Panetta and Dempsey knew at the same time, prior to their scheduled meeting with the POTUS at 1700 hours. It is acknowledged that at least Panetta went on to meet with the President as scheduled. It is known and documented that Dempsey was on the phone to pseudo-preacher geek Terry Jones in Florida with the video story by 1030 hours 12 Sep 14. The geek is the same guy Petraeus called to set up a story, and Gates before him. Dempsey knew what he was doing and is the likely initial public source for the video story.
3.) The only way Obama and Hillary didn't know anything is if they refused to read the message laid in their hands.
4.) Our emergency messaging system has been a routine affiar for nearly 50 years now. These putzes in DC seem to think no one knows about it. Well, those of us who have participated in sending such messages know about it. Hubris is a terrible thing in leaders. It is blinding.
