Land



Robin Wright plays a depressed women who goes to her late father's cabin in Wyoming (the actual setting is in Alberta).  The scenery is ok and the acting competent, but it made me depressed watching it. It does get better towards the end, but the ending is still a bit pat.

Netflix: House of Cards



House of Cards is well worth checking out.  In production value Netflix is proving just as capable as HBO and AMC.  

Keven Spacey does a great job as Congressman Frank Underwood (D), a South Carolinian who is up on his Machiavelli and Sun Tzu.  It does have its flaws, but the acting, casting and production quality are great and the writing (with a few exceptions) generally pretty decent.  While most of the fictional players are Democrats, the show is refreshingly non partisan in tone (portraying that ambition, corruption and power plays are not limited to just one party).  
Robin Wright does a great job as the wife of Congressman Underwood
Kate Mara as the ambitious young reporter not afraid to use her assets to get a lead...
Kirsten Conolly plays a congressional staffer and girlfriend of Congressman Russo of Pennsylvania
Sandrine Holt plays a NGO staffer employed by the Clean Water Initiative and Claire Underwood


Netflix released all 13 episodes of Season 1 on February 1, 2013.  I just got around to checking it out and quickly went through most of it.

What is up with Season 2 (it starts filming in March 2013)?
