So what is Ted Cruz's Major Announcement?

Ted needs to change the narrative after last night.  Trump had a big night and Indiana has become a do or die for the Cruz Campaign. Given the stories about Cruz vetting Carly for vice president, this speculation does make sense.

Carly Fiorina was always running for vice president (just like John Kasich is). She would be a good pick for Ted Cruz.  I am doubtful this changes the dynamic at this point, Cruz is just not wooing enough voters right now to stop the Trump Train (which is frustrating since Cruz is true constitutional conservative). Maybe Mike Pence will jump in and help Ted out?  Now that would be a major announcement in Indiana.

Even if it is looking bad right now Ted, keep fighting!


I know Kasich has said no way to a vice president slot. Trump has made fun of his eating habits. Still, never say never. Kasichmentum or not, it was five more delegates than Ted Cruz got last night. Let's see what goes down in Cleveland this summer.

Update: Forbes: This could backfire.  It won't "backfire" because it is a last ditch effort.  It's very well might not work, but Carly is not a bad choice--really what would be a better choice?  A combined Cruz Kasich ticket?  That is not going to work right now, Kasich wants to be with whoever is winning. He is a little whore that way.

And fuck apologizing to Kessler, Michelle Ye Hee Lee works for him and Kessler's about as biased and partisan as they come. I have no problem with that, but spare us the pious hypocrisy of declaring himself a "fact checker" because one thing I know is the smell of bullshit.

Rush had a caller on today (a woman) who is turned off by this whole Carly thing.  She said (and Rush agreed) that if he stopped doing this he might be at 45% today. Rush then went back to saying that where Trump really resounds is focusing on issues (like immigration) and hammering it.

CNN's War on Women: Carly Fiorina being excluded from the CNN debate

CNN controls its protocol and implements a methodology that utilizes polls before the Fox News debate. This disfavors Fiorina.  This did not just "happen" this is CNN trying to game the political process.  Instapundit asks (and rightly so), why does CNN hate women?

I am not a big Trump fan or hater (I am mostly observing, although I like how he has shifted the debate). Whether he has the legs to go all the way remains to be seen. But I am not sure why the GOP would not want a player with chops against the opposition like Carly to be excluded from the mix at this stage (that is not slight on Trump to say that).

EBL: How did the EPA managed to dump millions of gallons of toxic waste into a Colorado river This is Barack Obama's "you've been dong a heck of a job" moment to his EPA head Gina McCarthy. It's not a climate change story, but it is a good example of how the government often makes problems worse (and is rarely held accountable for it).

Since we are talking global warming and climate change, Ace also had this on Carly Fiorina response to Katy Couric on climate change and coal. I agree with Chicks on the Right, I like Fiorina's answer (a lot). Merely going to the media with "your wrong" is like using that approach with your spouse that (only worse). Primacy has locked people's thinking in on global warming and climate change. You will not sway them with that approach. Taking their arguments apart point by point is more persuasive (I really like her pivoting on jobs, regulation, China and turbines chopping up eagles).



I also do not think it is capitulation to acknowledge mankind's actions may have some impact on the environment.  Those wind turbines Carly Florina mentions, for example, have an impact on raptors and bats flying by. Barack Obama's EPA is having a heck of a negative impact on a Colorado river. Heck, even humble cow flatulence can allegedly play a roll with the climate (I swear it wasn't me)!
The left went after Michael Crichton and Bjørn Lomborg too. For all the ranting and ravings by scientist about the Catholic Church 500 years ago, the scientific orthodoxy on climate change today is arguably even more rigid (of course that it has become a #1.5 trillion dollar industry with 15% growth rate is part of the problem).  A lot of people have a lot to lose if the apple cart gets over turned.

So why isn't Donald Trump going after Hillary Clinton?


"The ultimate reality is that every Republican in the primary has a common enemy, and it's Hillary Clinton." Carly Florina gets that, is fighting well, and should be getting more attention than she has been.

And this advice from The Other McCain is spot on too:
As James Carville says, if you see a turtle sitting atop a fence post, you know it didn’t crawl up there by itself and — in case nobody told you yet — Team Hillary is playing for keeps. Don’t be a chump. Know who you trust and trust who you know. Beware of dirty tricks.
If we can’t defeat Team Hillary, America is doomed and deservedly so.
