I liked the first season of Jack Ryan a lot (even if it has some flaws). I want to like Season 2 but in the opening scene when Dr. Ryan declares that Venezuela's economy was driven into the ground by a "nationalist" and that the saving opposition is a social justice candidate from the left (who Dr. Ryan says is not "an asshole")...I call bullshit. It is pretty obvious what they are trying to sell. Unfortunately--there are plenty of college professors selling that same BS to students all across the country.
Fuck you Amazon (or who ever decided to write such tripe and specious lies). Venezuela's economy was destroyed by Chavez and Maduro--avowed leftist socialists. Even the New York Times acknowledges Venezuela is a socialist disaster. Your revisionist history does not amuse me.
I have only watched one episode of Season 2--but this is really bothering me. I recognize that corrupt nationalists (regardless of ideology) are perfectly capable of screwing up countries and economies--but Venezuela's current problems are specially caused by twenty years of socialist policies. This show might be finished for me. Sad.
