Florence Foster Jenkins: A Review



This was a rental I finally got around to. I have lately found Meryl Steep tedious (and for the most part she still is). I thought Florence Foster Jenkins would be more of a parody, but the performance of Hugh Grant and Simon Helberg (along with Meryl Streep) make it far better than that. It is a compelling story (caution spoilers), worth watching. It is Florence Foster Jenkins's real life story that provides the structure of the film. That and if you have ever seen karaoke, even the most terrible singers become compelling if they do with with sincerity and passion.
