ReplyDeleteAs a chess player that remembers all of Kasparov's run at the top of the chess world, I would caution against following him. He's the greatest chess player of all time, but the chess world still hasn't recovered from the way he completely wrecked it organizationally over 20 years ago. (And continued to do so afterwards and is trying to do it some more now.) He has a tendency to do things that seem like they're in everyone's interests, but the minute he stops profiting from whatever, he bails in a way that wrecks everything.
ReplyDeleteI need to be a bit more fair to the CAUSES Kasparov has supported. He's often been on the side of the angels, but once he realizes that he isn't going to get everything he wants, he runs and makes a point of wrecking everything he had been allegedly working towards.
