Matthew Yglesias Cheers On Daenerys Burning Civilians In King's Landing

Does Matty need some attention?  

Hot Air's John Sefton does an appropriate take down of Matt Yglesias. I do not want to link to the underling Vox article (because why reward his click bait-ism), but Yglesias basically argues that Daenerys has to 'send a message' to the rest of Westeros via example of what happens when you resist her. So when she sent her dragon to burn women and children after surrender, it was necessary.  

I thought the ending of Game of Thrones sucked, due to shitty character development and a very rushed plot (with gaping holes in it). I am surprised by this. I never expected someone to seriously* argue that ending was good political policy. Never-underestimate Yglesias's ability to say something stupidly provocative.
