  1. On Kurdish Independence, I don't think that's good for the US. Edrogan isn't either, but the Balkanization of the Middle East won't be pretty in the short run (long run maybe, but it will be painful to get there). But good luck with it.

On the purple fingers, as much as I can figure out how to manipulate it; I certainly do wish we did the same here in the US, particularly for nation elections to prevent people from going to multiple polls, because I know it happens.

    1. The Kurds have been screwed forever and they have been loyal to us. So you know what, if they want independence I support their independence. And if they can carve some off Syria too to their new state. So be it. The Turks are worried they might carve off a part of Turkey or Iran too.

  2. That's the thing, the Kurdish areas of Syria, Turkey, and Iran should belong to the Kurds, and those countries know it. That's why Turkey didn't support us in 2003. It is why Turkey will expand its civil war to an international war if Kurdistan becomes separated from Iraq. And unless some other nation, such as the US, comes to its aid, Turkey will destroy the Kurds.

I agree that the Kurds deserve our support, but 15 years after the invasion of Iraq, we are no longer a country interested in joining another war. It may seem that way with the North Korea rhetoric, but I don't see the average American getting behind Kurdish Independence. So I think it will be ugly.

Otherwise, I completely support not only Kurdish Independence but having land dedicated to various tribes for which the people can live to whatever ideals they prefer within that land. That's why I wish them luck, but I don't think the timing is right.
