Franklinia alatamaha


Franklin alatamaha: A North American native camellia-tea family tree found on the banks of Alatamaha River in Georgia, now extinct in the wild but grown by people around the world. The 18th century collector John Bartram named the tree for his father's good friend Benjamin Franklin.
