Hillary Clinton Emails: Are we heading for a Constitutional Crisis?

Instapundit and Don Surber: Will There Be A Show Down Between The FBI and Attorney General?

It is almost certain Barack Obama and Loretta Lynch (despite their dislike of the Clintons) will not jeopardize Democrat presidential chances. Ultimately this comes down to whether James Comey had the integrity to make this an issue and demand that a special prosecutor be appointed. Given he was the prosecutor against Martha Stewart and was a Republican who appointed and backed Patrick Fitzgerald as special prosecutor in going after Scooter Libby, you think he would be willing to do this (unlike lower level agents, he could land on his feet just fine if he goes head to head with the President and the Attorney General).

  1. I just don't see how they could not prosecute. There is tolerance for investigating and gathering evidence; but there is enough evidence already available for conviction. The question has always been how serious the charge. If Obama and Lynch refuses to prosecute on any charge; there will be repercussions in the bureaucracy.

    1. At a minimum the Director of the FBI (who serves a 10 year term and is not your typical "I serve at the pleasure of the President" cabinet member--even though technically he reports to the Attorney General) should make an issue of this with the media. That could not be ignored and would be a major news story (Bernie Sanders feelings aside). Obama could try to fire him?

I think you may be assuming more than you should.

They still owe old Blotchy for his "Ten years ago" crack and the Choom Gang is into payback.

    1. If only it was that simple. Obama knows a GOP winner will likely wipe out everything he has done. If what you said was true, he would have pulled the rug out from under her and encouraged Biden to jump in (do you really think Biden made that choice all on his own). He'll continue to support Clinton until it is not worth it to keep supporting Clinton.

Although Biden recently said he regrets not running every day...perhaps a signal?
