Fyodor Dostoyevsky: The Brothers Karamazov

Fyodor Dostoyevsky was a prophet and most of his frightful predictions sadly came true

Here is the Character List, knowing the Russian names helps

In the movie Yul Brynner and Lee J. Cobb dominate the rest of the cast who can't keep up (not even William Shatner with a Prince Valiant haircut), Dostoyevsky's novel is far better

Maria Schell does shine as Grushenka

Dimitri Karamazov and Grushenka's big scene starts around 45:00

  1. Wasn't there (there shoulda been) a '60's or '70's TV show about some NYC (or Balitimore -- I forget) hustler called "The Brother's Karma's Off"?

  2. Dostoyevsky's laundry list was better written than most movies.
