Bridge of Spies is a good movie depicting the efforts of James Donovan to negotiate the exchange of Gary Powers for Rudoph Abel. Spielberg, Hanks and the Coen Brothers do a great job in recreating Cold War tensions of the late fifties and early sixties (and the visual effects of late fifties early sixties New York and Berlin are very well done). The film has a Capra style to it without being overtly saccharine.
