    I was hoping someone would remember this day.

    Interesting factoid: Everyone on the American side was worried the Nips were planning a trap of some sort. The occupation iunits went in loaded for bear.

    MacArthur's plane, flying in to Atsugi field had a Ranger platoon on board, just in case.

    Winnie Churchill later wrote he considered MacArthur's act of debarking his C-54 unarmed and alone the greatest single act of personal courage of the war.
