    1. It wasn't (Gettysburg was the worse), but it was right up there with these battles.

  2. Who owes reparations to the descendants of those 600,000 to 850,000 dead soldiers?

    How many of them even got the chance to have descendants?

    1. That was the point.

      You read Coates article and it shows that lack of education (along with legally ignored violence) allowed descendants of slaves to be taken advantage of for decades. So isn't the answer to breaking the cycle ending the violence and providing education? While white violence has mostly ended, black on black violence is rampant. And schools where the majority of the population are African American suck.

      Seems I read Coates article a little closer than some others may have…
