Actually, more people knew him from 77 (in its day, it was huge), but FBI was far more palatable to Mom and Dad.
PS His comments about 77 had to do with the fact Jack Warner never understood the power of television.
Warner was used to Jimmy Cagney and Errol Flynn and the silver screen and the whole larger than life thing. He never understood the people on TV became part of the family and at least as important and, thus, never treated them accordingly.
Hard to think of him without thinking "FBI" in the same thought.
