  2. skeleton is throwing yourself on a little sleigh on your back and going a zillion miles an hour down a slope of ice, all the time praying for safety

  3. "Luge" is what "denis miller" described, lying on your back, down the hill feet first. "Skeleton", on the other hand is a smaller sled, and you lie on it face down head first down the same kind of course. It used to be a Swiss thing competed only at their events...now it is widely appreciated apparently.

OT from another Rule 5 thread...Julia Mancuso of the USA won an Olympic Bronze medal in the combined slalom & downhill event (one run of each) today...like I said, she's a money racer, never to be counted out. She finished first in the downhill portion and third in the slalom portion...coincidently the same results she had last year at the trial event held in Sochi.
