Bob Gates on Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden

I have a feeling we will be discussing Robert Gate's upcoming book a lot...
Bob Woodward at the WaPo as more:  “Hillary told the president that her opposition to the [2007] surge in Iraq had been political because she was facing him in the Iowa primary. . . . The president conceded vaguely that opposition to the Iraq surge had been political. To hear the two of them making these admissions, and in front of me, was as surprising as it was dismaying.”
President Barack Obama is intentionally letting Afghanistan fail, just like he abandoned Iraq. When it comes to taking advice, President Barack Obama listens to guys from the neighborhood.  Meanwhile, U.S. servicemembers are dying due to the President's political cowardice.

More from Gates.

Update:
Wombat links, Gates didn't believe his own war strategy...

  1. What difference at this point does it make?

    1. Well what was the point? To let both countries go back to al Qaeda? I suppose people said the same after WWI and look how that turned out. Sometimes doing nothing is doing something too, something bad.

    2. The other point is do we really want Hillary to follow Obama in 2016? No. When Afghanistan and Iraq implode before our eyes, let Hillary and Obama be blamed for it. I know the MSM will not do it, but I will do what little I can. I hope others do so too (including you).

  2. He's been at the helm less than half the length of the campagin, but 3/4 of the A-stan casualties are on Choom's watch.

    That's criminal malfeasance.
