New York loves its semi public agencies...

Tolls are going up!  It is now $102 for a truck to cross the George Washington Bridge...

Tolls are not for repairing and building roads, but feeding the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey...

This is nothing new...

Update:
It is not just the Port Authority.  New York has other semi public corporations that are borrowing and spending billions of dollars out of sight and direct oversight of tax payers.
Reining in New York's out of control authorities (there are way more than you might think)
Actually pigs might not be the right image (they are pigs, but it is not complete). What are those creatures that live under bridges and demand tolls called?
I would imagine most New Yorkers do not love these entities, unless they of course work for them or benefit directly from them. While most New Yorkers certainly benefit from public infrastructure provided by such agencies, the question is how efficiently is it delivered?  The agency becomes more interested in maintaining its own existence than the infrastructure it is responsible for.

  1. You get the feeling all the luxury goodies will be all that get through.

Problem is, the hoi polloi are still the ones who will be needed to pour the plutocrats' latte.

If they can't live there, it's gonna get tough with all chiefs and no Indians.
