Death toll in Philippines' Typhoon could top 10,000

This was a very bad storm...
Central Philippines Hardest Hit.
Typhoon Haiyan had sustained winds over 195 mph and generated 19 foot waves.

Update: Marines sent to help...
TOM: The politics of weather... Katrinia, Sandy and Haiyan had nothing to do with "global climate change" and everything to do with geography, tide tables, coastal development and bad luck.

  1. Came ashore at Leyte, right about where we landed in '44.

the storm was almost as bad as the Japanese occupation.
