President Obama saying again and again you can keep your healthcare plan...

  1. I find the WaPo editorial pathetic. First, they start out claiming they don't even want to do the story, but their readers and Valerie Jarrett made them do it. They then make the argument that Obama lied because he kept making the claim after the election, but that his previous promise prior the election can be forgiven. What's the point of noting a politician's lies if you never hold them to account?
But the WaPo can't just point out Obama's lie and move on. They have to give their readership the "Republican's do it too" to whit:

"Moreover, it’s certainly incorrect to claim, as some Republicans have, that people are losing insurance coverage. Instead, in virtually all cases, it’s being replaced with probably better (and possibly more expensive) insurance."

Actually WaPo, the notion that the lost insurance coverage is being replace with better is itself, a lie. At best, WaPo false assertion assumes that those losing their insurance can actually login into Healthcare.gov in enroll in a new plan. This assumption doesn't make an ass out of you and me; rather it means millions of American's will lose insurance coverage they previously purchases, not be able to get new insurance, will have to pay their medical bills out of pocket, and get fined for not having insurance. I assure the Washington Post, that before any of those American's pay the fine; they'll be marches on DC the likes they have never seen. Shame on WaPo!

  3. I watched Obama's entire speech yesterday. It was the first speech of his that I had ever watched, other than snippets on some news link.

My conclusion is that the man is unabashedly bat shit crazy. He really believes his own nonsense. I am sure he'd bite into a lemon that he wanted to sell you and claim it was sweet as maple candy...and believe it himself too. Isn't there medication for such deluded thinking?

    1. You are a better than me. I still haven't watched one of his speeches. But going by this snipet: "Shop if you are dropped (by your insurer)"; I agree he is batshit crazy. Shop where? Healthcare.gov? It's non-operational. Fill out a paper form? It still has to be entered into Healthcare.gov, which is non-operational.

On another note, Mr. President, why is Congress the only government entity looking into the disaster that is Healthcare.gov? Why Mr. President is no one in the Executive Branch asking how that POS happened? The President may not have known, and he may not be personally responsible for it happening; but if the President does nothing about finding out why it happened and holding people accountable, then he is not serving the American people. We should be hearing names of civil servants fired for their role in managing this project.

    3. It was difficult...my right hand kept twitching and reaching for the remote to change the channel. Had to restrain it by sitting on it.

A fact he doesn't stress is that this health-care scam they've designed is really all about income redistribution and control of citizen lives. Think not? I just spoke to a very good friend whose coverage is canceled 01 Jan 2014 and his two person family income is too high at approximately $60K to qualify for tax credits. The plan covering the two of them at the same level they have now is $21,000+. Don't believe that bullshit Obama and minions put out that the increased cost will only apply to those making $250K or more...as if re-distributing even from that is okay. The increased costs will hit every single man, woman and child in the nation that holds a job. Period.

I'm not drinking any koolaid. About 2 years ago, wife and I learned we make too much money to write off our daughters' education expenses, and of course we made way too much money for financial aid (which is actually a good thing). Interesting that we can't afford any of the major Universities in Texas, yet we make so much money. Alas, our daughters will graduate with no debt other than the one shackled to them by blue state voters.
