Democrats are shameless liars and hypocrites...

Below is a shameless email that the Democrats are sending out to drum up support following the Navy Yard shooting. The shooter (who by the way was an Obama supporter and liberal, who voted Democrat) did his attack with a shotgun and then hand guns taken from security officers he shot.

Now I am for keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill, but are we really going to bar all persons with post traumatic stress disorder or who ever consulted a mental health professional from owning a shot gun? That is no solution. That would make it so people with mental health issues would avoid seeking help. Had the police responded appropriately to the shooter's cries for help it is possible this shooting never would have happened.

Hindsight is 20/20. While thankfully they are rare, there is no way to stop all such events. You know what would have mitigated harm in this shooting? Allowing personnel at the Navy Yard to carry weapons and defend themselves. Mark Kelley went out and purchased weapons, including an AR-15 to defend himself and his wife after she was shot. Why can't the rest of us do so?

Update:
No word why the SWAT team was ordered to stand down.
We need better mental health care, not new guns laws...
The Real Navy Yard Scandal...
America has more guns, Russia has more murders...

Dear Activist,
The Navy Yard tragedy hit close to home for Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelley, a retired astronaut and U.S. Navy Captain. So they wrote a compelling letter to Congress, which begins:
"A disturbed and dangerous individual used a gun to commit mass murder - to create for us all a world as dark and evil as his own. Now, 12 Americans are dead, and we wonder, again, when and where will it happen next?"
Congress cannot ignore tragedy after tragedy, especially when it's just a mile from them. Please read and co-sign their letter to Congress.
Thanks for all you do!
Bob Fertik

As members of the Navy family, we continue to hold the victims of Monday's mass shooting at the Navy Yard in our thoughts and prayers.
We've been there, and know that nothing will bring solace to the families who lost loved ones that day.
It is our hope that as the hours and days pass, Americans and the elected officials who represent them will match their anger and sadness with a renewed commitment to ensuring tragedies like this one never happen again.
That's why we wrote a letter to Congress asking them to come together in the wake of this latest tragedy, and to revisit legislation like expanded background checks that will keep our communities safer. Add your name to our letter today:

Responsible gun owners should feel outraged when criminals and the dangerously mentally ill can get their hands on guns and use them to harm children and families.
While Congress may be divided on how to stop this problem, Americans simply are not.
It's time for them to act.
All the best,
Gabby Giffords & Mark Kelly
