Navy ships are on their way to Syria...
With the recent chemical attacks absolutely confirmed in Syria, the question becomes what to do? We get blamed for it anyway. We have the ruthless Assad regime and its mostly Alawite supporters and teamed up with Iranian backed Hezbollah groups and Russian support. We have an opposition that while has some moderate elements, is mostly dominated by hard core Islamic jihadis backed by al Qaeda (that we are sending aid to).
I would stay out of this one. If the rebels win, we still likely lose. But what will President Obama do?
Update:
It is all too much for some Leftist to handle. When in doubt, blame Israel!
Syria: A mission destined for failure...

I'm perhaps missing the tongue in the cheek, but what do you mean by absolutely confirmed? I'm obtuse that way....
ReplyDeleteIt's been a few days now with UN weapons Inspectors already in country when the attack supposedly occurred, and I've seen no confirmation. That's not to say Obama won't blame his attack on a video.
I'm for more imploding in Syria. Syria's only strategic value is related to Israel, and while I support Israel; I do think it has this situation well in hand. Obama's done enough damage in Libya and Egypt. If he wants to "stop the violence", put the ships off Chicago and send in the Marines to arm the civilian population there.
Will we ever find out whether it was Samantha Power or Susan Rice who said, "It's a slam dunk, Mr President"?
DeleteThe evidence of chemical attacks I believe is conclusive. That does not justify us getting involved. Syrian on Syrian violence is nothing new. Assads are fighting for their lives because they know their years of oppression will never be forgiven. If they lose they will suffer the same fate as Saddam Hussein.
DeleteGreat sign.
ReplyDeleteAnd maybe this little piece (follow the link to gallup) is the reason why we're suddenly so hot to go.
You mean change the topic?
DeleteThat is how the Obamas roll!
