Make your own Worcestershire Sauce!

Palladian will show you how the old school way!
I am a big fan of those little fish fresh, but I agree with Palladian, preserved anchovies are awesome...

Update:  Palladian's colonial recipe book is on line!

I would go with Palladian's find of the Catchup to keep twenty Years, but here are some other Worcestershire sauce recipes:
America's Test Kitchen
Blue Kale Road

  1. Worcestershire sauce got it's name when the inventor kept bottles of it on the counter in his diner. He fiddled with the recipe, based on customer feedback. He finally settled on the right combination of ingredients, then tried to figure out what to call it. One day a guy came in and poured a bunch of it onto his food, took a bite and exclaimed, "Oooweeee, what's this here sauce?" The rest is history.
