Give me your tired, your poor, your hungry has clearly outgrown its usefulness. It should be Give me your smart, your energetic, and your well-fed. That's what this country needs. Not more poor, not more hungry, not the tired.
I do not mind the tired, poor and hungry when it is geared to assimilation, getting ahead, and productive work as opposed to having them hitting the social safety net. We cannot have open immigration if the result is millions more on social assistance--it is beyond fiscal sustainable and more fiscal suicide.
Some will tell you it's stalled for this year.

I'm of the believe that if evangelical Christians are working with and shaking the hand of the Devil himself, they're not much of a Christian.
