According to Wikipedia: On June 19, 2013, Gandolfini died suddenly while vacationing in Rome. Early reports suggest the cause of death was either an acute myocardial infarction or a stroke.[19] Gandolfini was wending his way toward Sicily, where officials at the Taormina Film Festival were expecting him by June 20, 2013 so that he could participate in an onstage conversation at the festival with Italian director Gabriele Muccino on June 22, 2013.[20]
