National Oyster Day

There is some controversy here.  Some claim it is May 5 and some claim August 5.

Neither day follows the truism that you should only eat oysters in a month with an "r" in it.  That recommendation is more due to oysters breeding in May through August (in the Northern Hemisphere) and they are not as prime during that time.  They are still quite good.  And if you like your raw oysters in cold months, you can go with cooked oysters in the summer (although I prefer both either time of year).

So my recommendation is celebrate the holiday on both days:
