Meet the new Pope, Same as the old Pope?

Cardinal Jorge Bergoglia of Argentina, now Pope Francis
Update:  Quiet Thunder in Argentina
White smoke today.  People are happy a Pope was chosen.  Cardinal Jorge Bergoglia was not on my short list, but he is from South America and of Italian decent.  Two big pluses.  He is Jesuit, but also not popular with the Vatican's Roman curia.  Cardinal Bergoglia was elected as a traditional conservative Catholic whose mission is to reform a corrupt Roman bureaucracy.  He is also a son of Argentina.

Taking the name Francis, the first for a pope, is a signal.  Francis of Assisi was a humble reformer.  Assuming his mission is to clear out the corruption in the Church, I wish him the best.  When he is done in Rome (assuming he is successful with that Herculean task), I wonder if Pope Francis can spend some time in Washington D.C.?
