Are Republicans really doomed?

Well we are if you think the choices of the Republican party are these two...

The Architect
"Major Tom" Gingrich
When the Democrats lost in 2000 and 2004, did they give up?

The future of the GOP is with candidates such as Rand Paul, Tim Scott, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, Nikki Haley, and Ted Cruz (and many others).  While I share Ace's concerns, I am a bit more optimistic (although we have rebuilding to do).  We start with immediately moving beyond Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich.
Update:
Gingrich on why Rove is wrong.
Jonah Goldberg on Rand Paul
TOM:  The Great Karl Rove Super PAC Scare...
(don't forget Dede Scozofava...)

  1. Yes, they are doomed. The republicans can NEVER get the dem base to vote for them. The dems just bribe their voters, the reps can't compete with that. What they are doing is trying to be the democrat light party. We are past the tipping point. The reps if they had balls and were smart, would stick to their guns and just let the country go under. Nothing can stop it. They are just prolonging it. Might as well be the party that stands on princible and does the right thing, then, maybe the people will trust them after the collapse of the USSA.

    1. I totally agree entitlement and debt reform will only come when it is forced on the nation (which will happen). The GOP needs to get out of the way and let the Democrats own it. The GOP needs to keep voting no on budget increases.
