Everyone who appreciates oysters has a favorite location.  Like wines, oysters variety widely based on the specific species and where and how it was raised.  And oyster ranchers are very good at growing a variety of them, for example the best Virginica oysters (which includes all native North American Atlantic oysters, such as Blue Points, Chesapeake, Wellfleets, etc.) may be from the West Coast.
