Barack Obama: "When four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal."

And he said it on Comedy Central?
My thought was when Barack Obama
is President it is non optimal
Barack Obama on Jon Stewart's show:  “Here’s what I’ll say. When four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal. We’re going to fix it,” Obama said per pool. “The government is a big operation and [at] any given time something screws up,” he also said, saying that he believes “you find out what’s broken and you fix it.”
Talk about understatement:  How do you fix this Mr. President?
Stewart asked: 'Is part of the investigation helping the communication between these divisions? 'Not just what happened in Benghazi, but what happened within. Because I would say, even you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page.'
Obama responded: 'Here's what I’ll say. If four Americans get killed, it’s not optimal. ..."
In context the President's comment is terrible.  Stewart was saying the Administration's response was not optimal. The President responds (rather than admitting the point Stewart was making) that the deaths of four Americans is not optimal.  No!  Their deaths were tragic and avoidable.  The White House's failure to adequately protect these officials led (in part) to their deaths.  Granted, the President and his Administration cannot be perfect and terrorist attacks will happen.  But then the Obama Administration covered it up for two weeks.  And the Administration did so to try to dodge the political impacts.

Especially when you have squandered weeks lying about it?

Update:  The CIA knew it was a terrorist attack the next day...Obama's explanation is not optimal.
