Tina Bites? |
Not that Tina Brown and the liberal media are suddenly going to turn pro Romney or Ryan, but they can see how turning on Obama might sell some copy and work in their favor. So they a publishing Niall Ferguson's article critical of Obama being re-elected and gave him the cover.
Of course, expect Frum, Sullivan and others of the Daily Beast's monkey menagerie to shortly come out with the argument for Obama. Update: Ferguson responds to his critics.
That said I am still glad Ferguson got his article and cover. Especially when you have a Newsweek cover article saying this about Barack Obama:
The voters now face a stark choice. They can let Barack Obama’s rambling, solipsistic narrative continue until they find themselves living in some American version of Europe, with low growth, high unemployment, even higher debt—and real geopolitical decline.
It is about time that the media started facing the truth.

Right Scoop
Voters have probably already discovered they are "living in some American version of Europe, with low growth, high unemployment, even higher debt - and real geopolitical decline." Newsweek knows this, too, which is they've removed Obama's halo, much though it pains them.

DeleteYou gotta love this...this COULD be the crack in the dam that explodes on the Obama Campaign. I envision that other print media outlets jump on this cover story and respond in like fashion--because its the truth, its right in front of your face and its not the minority to believe this way. I read and blogged on a concept called the "preference cascade" in which, people who were hiding their true beliefs because they thought that they were either alone or in the extreme minority, suddenly start to speak up when they realize their views are the prevailing opinion. I'm hoping that happens here...
ReplyDeleteCheers; love your blog.
Thank you.
