There is a traditional American (as in USA) drinking holiday today: It's Kentucky Derby Day and it is time for some bourbon and mint juleps

Classic Spring Cocktail

Mint Julep

INGREDIENTS
2 oz bourbon
8 sprigs of mint
1 tsp of sugar

INSTRUCTIONS
Put mint and sugar with a dash of water in mixing glass. Add shaved ice and bourbon. Shake until frosted and pour all into rocks glass. Garnish with a mint sprig.

It is Derby Day.  They don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Mexico, so why celebrate it here?  Trust me, bourbon is far better than a tasteless Corona (even better than a Sol or Pacifica, which are decent lagers).   If you are drinking decent bourbon, you can (and should) consider eliminating the ice, sugar, water, and mint above.   And getting drunk and falling out of trees is for beginners.  If you are an adult, drink like one.  And if you go to a Derby Party today, dress sharp.  Here is a beginner guide for betting on the ponies.
