Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. Gateway Pundit has a well done post on the topic.
Update: In the WaPo comments the point was made to remember all deaths in WWII. Fair enough.
However, the Holocaust was planned genocide which is a level of horror above that of some other deaths (while I do not celebrate the deaths that occurred on German or Japanese civilians, they were more victims of their own governments not the Allied armies). Antisemitism in Europe is still there and growing.
The date is based on the date of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

Iran celebrates day by mocking holocaust with cartoons...(interesting how using cartoons is fine when attacking other faiths, just not anything to do with their faith).
