George Floyd was a drug addict, who almost certainly died from too much fentanyl (had he just cooperated with police, he might very well be alive today). I am sorry Mr. Floyd died--being strung out on drugs is a hellava thing.
The police were not blameless (the situation was handled poorly) and Derek Chauvin is likely going to prison for a very long time. The truth remains that George Floyd was the primary cause of his own death.
Treating Mr. Floyd as a saint and martyr seems insane, but many people still do so. While I get the outrage over Derek Chauvin's neck kneeling, that a guy who beat up a pregnant woman is a hero to so many seems crazy to me. Then again, Matthew Shepard is still treated as a saint. YMMV.
