There seems to be a lot of missing information in this story. Why would a six year old 1st grader shoot his teacher on purpose? How did a six year old get a loaded handgun in the first place (were his parents grossly negligent or did he find it somewhere else)? I suspect we will find out more over time, but this just seems tragic all around.
Forgunately Ms. Zwerner appeares to have survived the shooting and no one else was injured. I wish and pray that everyone involved a speedy recovery and I hope this kid gets the help he needs.
